Heartbox was born out of pure frustration. We spent hours scrolling through gifting websites — flowers, fruit baskets, photo frames, the same tired chocolate boxes, and “healthy hampers” priced like they came with a personal trainer. Beautiful websites, yes. But the gifts? Predictable. Recycled. Forgettable.
And here’s what bothered us most: the occasions themselves were stuck in 2010. Where was the box for finally signing the divorce papers? For surviving the last exam? For quitting the job that was eating your soul? For the friend going through a breakup at 11pm on a Tuesday? Real life is full of moments worth marking — and most of them don’t come with a Hallmark card.
So we built HeartBox.
Once we know the occasion, the recipient’s age, and a few hints about what they love — we want to be the ones to pack the box. By hand. With whatever’s trendy, thoughtful, and right for them — not whatever’s sitting in a warehouse waiting to be shipped.
We obsess over what’s inside so the recipient doesn’t have to fake a smile. We want them genuinely thrilled.
